Basic
- ICS-100
- ICS-700
- ARRL Basic EmComm Course
- Obtain Task Book
- Join ARES Group
- Technician License or above
Intermediate
- ICS-100
- ICS-200
- ICS-700
- ICS-800
- Intermediate EmComm Course (prerequisite is the Basic EmComm Course)
- Net participation at least once per quarter
- Program a tone into an HT
- Program frequency and offset into a radio
- Complete and send an ICS-213 Message
Advanced
- All Basic and Intermediate requirements
- ICS-120, 230, 235, 240, 241, 242, 244, 288, 2200 and 802
- ARRL ARES Advanced EmComm course
- 1 Public service event annually
- SET or Exercise participation bi-annually
- Serve as Net Control
- Present a training session
- Hold or previously held a leadership position in a group
- Participate in PIO activities (PR-101 qualifies)
- Proficiency in using ICS forms
- Operate a VHF digital messaging station in Peer-to-Peer mode
- Operate a HF digital mode messaging station
